Westfield have announced a £500 million plan to redevelop the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre. The plan will have a significant impact on the Southside Business District by creating a direct link from Southside into the heart of the city centre.
The plan will see new pedestrianised areas linking the northern tip of Southside to the rest of the shopping centre and city centre. According to press releases, new stores in the redeveloped Broadmarsh will include Marks and Spencers, Debenhams as well as a Harvey Nichols.
The new plans for Broadmarsh are part of wider plans to invest over £1.3 billion on major capital schemes in Nottingham over the next four years – including the new train station, tram expansion and two redeveloped shopping centres amongst others. As well as watching this space on development pland ins Southside, it is certainly an exciting time for the rest of the city!
